DARLING OLIVES

I had the privilege of photographing the extensive product range that Roleen Basson from Darling Olives produces year round. Some of these photos were printed on 4m wide canvas and hangs in the taste room of Darling Olives. I also took the photos of individual products for their (soon to be launched) website.

Darling Olives is located just 3 km out of Darling towards Yzerfontein, nestled amidst vineyards, grazing cattle and olive groves. Their 70 hectares of olives are all dry land and grown on the Alexanderfontein Estate. They get processed within 24 hours of picking, resulting in a superior product.

Farm bread is baked daily in a wood burned oven. Enjoy a picnic on the farm amongst wild flowers with their bread, olive jams, olive marmalade, labneh cheese, olives and olive paste in the springtime. For desert you can sample their olive chocolate!  During the winter months they always have a fire burning in the tasting rooms to shake off the cold while enjoying an informative tasting. Harvest time is April to June when you can experience the olive oil process with a guided tour through their olive press.

Darling Olives is a great place to start your education about how olives are grown, pressed and cured. They offer tasting & sales of their extensive product range.
